Biography
Eva Irwin, otherwise known as Moody Eva, has been playing records since 1993. Her friend, DJ Greed, showed her to the turntables when she was 16. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she raved full time from 1994-1996, enjoying what she considers to be the "golden age" of music in SF. In 1997, she moved to Hawaii and realized quickly she was the only female DJ living on the island who was playing out. She played 4 nights a week and at 2 afterhours clubs for 2 years straight under the DJ name "Evil-lyn". Moving back to SF (changing her Dj name to Moody Eva), she was instantly made General Manager of LiveDJs.com, a 24-hour live online Dj streaming website. When that ".com" busted... she re-started GoodBeats and used the site to promote her DJ friends who didn't have any online presence. Alongside Cameron (aka: Shortbus), she co-started the record label Big Popsicle.

She soon learned how to make music by paying for private lessons and pressed her first song to vinyl 5 months later. She has released a total of 7 songs and licensed 4 of them. Her labels include Big Popsicle, Undercover, Blunted Funk, and Wally's Groove World. Gavin Hardkiss licensed a song in 2006 for his "san francisco loft party" mix CD that was released nationally.

For years, she played every club in San Francisco. In 2004, she moved to San Diego, bought Pro Tools, and started making more beats than ever before. She found herself looking for house music parties everywhere and not finding good ones. In March 2007 she came back from WMC (completely inspired) and decided she couldn't take one more bad event with bad music. She stopped going out, and started podcasting. She uploads so many new mixes a week, her podcast is downloaded over 30 times a day.

After the podcast took off she started throwing her own parties. Her desire to involve as many people as possible created a family called "SD Voltron" that is still growing. Slowly and steadily, she is forming an army of people in San Diego who DEMAND good music and good times every night of the week.... not just once a month.

Other than when she is on vacation, she has now mixed for an hour a day since November 2006.... and counting. She records every single time she mixes and uploads 1 or 2 original unmastered mixes to her podcast every 7-10 days. Her ability to record and release a new mix almost weekly is what sets her apart from most DJs. Her dedication to daily practice shows in her beat-matching skills. She is known for her musical talent, boundless energy, great intentions, and her ability to have a fantastic time wherever she goes!

Since 1993, Moody Eva has released 56 different mix CD's using analog (handing them out) and digital (podcast) methods. How many other DJs do you know who have put out over 50 mixes?

You have to see this girl mix live!!!!
